The clitoris is the only organ
in the human body dedicated solely to sexual pleasure. Most people
think that the nub of sensitive flesh that we see at the top of
the vagina is the clitoris. But what we see on the outside is actually
the glans of the clitoris. The clitoris is a shaft of engorgeable
tissue that resembles a small penis that lies inside under a layer
of fat and skin. The clitoris has a sexually sensitive head just
like the penis and this is what we see externally - the glans.
Now, on the inside, the clitoris has two arms that extend downward
toward the vaginal opening and they have two bulbs at the end of
them. To try to picture this, the clitoris looks like an upside
down "Y". And most of us think that what we see is
the clitoris but it's not. What we see externally is the
tip of the upside down "Y". Amazing isn't it?
There are around 8,000 nerve fibers in the clitoris – more
than anywhere else in the body and twice that in the penis. Most
women require clitoral stimulation to achieve an orgasm and speaking
of orgasms there are many benefits to them. Satisfaction is motive
enough but there are health benefits as well. The more orgasms
you experience the greater your desire…so be sure to get
your quota. Orgasms relieve tensions pent up in nervous system
pathways. Orgasms help with pain as endorphins are released during
sex and these can increase your tolerance of pain. They also help
you sleep better as after you have had an orgasm your blood pressure
drops and you relax.
Now that you know that having orgasms are good
for your health…what are you waiting for?
